‘Iron Man 2′ trailer is pretty awesome
Add Your Comment »Set to AC/DC, the trailer for “Iron Man 2” litterally rocks. And how perfect is Mickey Rourke in the role of Whiplash (even if he can’t pull off a Russian accent, he still looks cool).
I don’t care what anyone says, he doesn’t look like a girl playing jump rope. I mean, what kind of planet are you from where little girls are that hideously ugly? Yikes.
Brittany Murphy’s husband doesn’t want an autopsy
Add Your Comment »TMZ is reporting that following today’s death of actress Brittany Murphy, her husband Simon Monjack has apparently opposed an autopsy on his wife by the Los Angeles County Cororner’s office.
Blogs, of course, are starting to speculate on Monjack’s involvment in the actress’ death. There has been no word on the cause of death, other than cardiac arrest. Who knows if Monjack is in any way responsible for Murphy’s death, but denying an autopsy is a sure-fire way to draw suspicion on yourself.
TMZ also says Brittany’s mother found her dead in the shower this morning. Paramedics weren’t able to revivie her.
Murphy, who used to date Ashton Kutcher, was known for her roles in “Clueless,” “8 Mile,” “Just Married,” “Freeway” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous.” She was 32.

HBO’s ‘Big Love’ poster, sneak peek
Add Your Comment »HBO has released a poster for the upcoming season of polygamy drama “Big Love.” The image is not very revealing, but the line “hold tight” is surely a reference to what was happening last season.
When we last saw the Henrickson family, it was coming apart at the scenes. Nicki (Chloe Sevigny) had just been found out as a huge liar and near-cheat. I’m sure much of the next season will focus on the family working out their issues with her. But Entertainment Weekly has a bit of a sneak peek that has nothing to do with that.
When we rejoin the family, man of the house(s) Bill (Bill Paxton) will be running for state senator. But the issue won’t be whether he wins but what he stands to lose along the way. “His goal, if he’s elected, is to put himself and his family out there as public polygamists,” says executive producer Marc V. Olsen, adding, “He can’t be impeached for that. Polygamy is technically a misdemeanor in Utah, [and a misdemeanor is not] an impeachable offense. Nonetheless, the Henrickson wives’ vote is split in a way that threatens to splinter the entire clan. “Bill’s decision renders major friction within the family,” Olsen teases. “What wives will or will not do to promote that agenda or stop that agenda dead in its tracks [is] a big piece of the season.”
“Big Love” Season 4 premiers Sunday Jan. 10.
New ‘Lovely Bones’ poster is too creepy
Add Your Comment »Wow, this is really the new poster for “The Lovely Bones“? It’s about as cool as an episode of “To Catch a Predator.” I wonder if the girl made a pitcher of iced tea and is about to inquire if the predator brought the McDonald’s food and condoms?
Seriously, what a terribly uncomfortable poster. Even if you didn’t know the story, you’d know that guy is a creep just from his Mark David Chapman glasses.
‘Amityville Horror’ might be remade AGAIN
2 Comments »Apparently Ryan Reynolds shirtless wasn’t enough (really? that wasn’t enough?) for a successful 2005 remake of horror classic “The Amityville Horror.” Bloodydisgusting.com is reporting that Dimenstion and the Weinsteins are planning to bring the movie back to the big screen.
But it’s only been four years. I’ve made my thoughts on remakes public here before, but this is just ridiculous. Are there really no original ideas any more? This is getting quite pathetic. Maybe they’ll put a new spin on it. There’s no word on what the plans are. But it’s just too much too soon.
New international ‘Wolfman’ poster is pretty cool
Add Your Comment »An international poster for “The Wolfman” has surfaced and I’m impressed. It’s right to the point, as all posters should be. I hate the ones that make you think. Good work, someone.
Why ‘Nine,’ ‘Precious’ and ‘A Single Man’ scare me
Add Your Comment »There are a lot of movies, both out now and coming up, that I will be seeing, but there’s something (or someone) about each of them that I’ve secretly been thinking makes them less legitimate.
For example, Fergie in “Nine.” I know she has like one song and is in like one scene or something. But there’s just something about her being in this potentially awesome movie that bugs me. And now she’s prominently placed on the poster above. I’m scared. I’m sure it’ll be fine. But in this tiny spot in my brain, there’s something whispering “a movie with Fergie as a star will never win an Oscar.”
Then there’s Mariah Carey in “Precious.” I hear she’s actually good in it. And the whole uni-brow thing helps legitimize her. But all I can think of is “Glitter.” And that makes me very scared. Again I hear, “a movie with Mariah as a star will never win an Oscar.”
I was this close to being worried about Mark Wahlberg in “The Lovely Bones,” but I got too distracted by Tom Ford directing “A Single Man.” The movie looks brilliant. And it does happen to star Goddess Julianne Moore. But since when does Ford make movies? Gucci and movies are hardly similar. Just because you make one, doesn’t mean you can make the other. But I hear he did a good job with the movie. So that’s fine. The voice this time is saying, “and the Oscar goes to Julianne Moore.”
‘Nine’ character poster starring the wrong people?
3 Comments »This new character poster for Rob Marshall’s upcoming move musical “Nine” doesn’t really feature the wrong stars, but upon a close look, most of the actors look like other actors.
Kate Hudson looks like Shakira. Marion Cottilard looks like Selma Blair. Fergie looks like Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. Sophia Loren looks like Susan Sarandon. Daniel Day-Lewis kind of looks like Jack Nicholson. Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Judi Dench don’t look like anyone else, though. Or do they?
