30 Rock Adds Another Set Of Cameos

Looks like everyone wants to be Liz Lemon’s best friend this year on the set of NBC’s 30 Rock. Last week I told you about Jennifer Aniston and Oprah guest starring, but this week the cameos are going a bit younger. Blake Lively and Leighton Meester from The CW’s Gossip Girl will be making their appearances in the fourth episode of the season.

Lively and Meester will show up in a flashback to Lemon’s high school days as she heads off to her reunion. She’s made claims that she was an unpopular nerd back in the day, but it turns out she was a bully instead. I’m guessing the Gossip Girls will be on the receiving end of Fey’s sharp tongue. The original plan had been to include the entire main cast of GG, but due to scheduling conflicts 30 Rock may have to settle for just 2 of the cast.

That now puts 30 Rock at having cameos in three of its first four episodes for its third season. Can they keep the streak going? Is this even a good thing or will it just distract from the already stellar cast? Since the new season doesn’t premiere until October 30th we have plenty of time to think about it.

Update: Alec Baldwin has also confirmed the Oprah cameo rumor.
