American Idol 2016 Trent Harmon Won The Entire Show Tonight, April 7th. Tonight’s last and final show, kicked off with bringing on a couple of people from the show’s history, starting with Ryan Seacrest’s season 1 co-host, Brian Dunkleman! Then La’Porsha and Trent hit the stage to sing “It Takes Two,” which was the same song that Kelly and Justin sang together back in Season 1.
Next, we saw more people from the past, hit the stage to givee us some special performances. Seasons 8 and 9 judge, Kara DiaGuardi sang with Jordin Sparks and Tamyra Gray.
Colton Dixon,Justin Guarini, Kimberly Locke, Allison Iraheta, Pia Toscano,Larry Platt, the “Pants on the Ground” guy, Bo Bice,Calbe Johnson, Constantine Maroulis,James Durbin, Chris Daughtry,Sanjaya in the audience, Diana DeGarmo, Skylar Laine, Kree Harrison, Bucky Covington, Ace Young, Constantine, Kellie Pickler,Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery all showed up.
We saw a special video message from former judge, Nicki Minaj. Then current judge,Harry Connick, Jr., sang “What a Wonderful World” with a student from a music school in New Orleans. After that, more past contestants showed up to perform. They were: Katharine McPhee, Casey James, Carly Smithson, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard, Amber Holcomb and Jessica Sanchez.
Next, current judge, Jennifer Lopez, sang her new song, “Ain’t Your Mama” followed by “Let’s Get Loud.” Next, more past contestants performed. They were: Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson ,LaToya London, Rogers, Clark Beckham, George Huff, Danny Gokey, Elliott Yamin, LaToya, Taylor Hicks, Joshua Ledet, Candice Glover, Melinda Doolittle, Phillip Phillips, Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen, Nick Fradiani and David Cook.
After all that, the original judges: Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell came out to say their last goodbyes to the show! Next, we saw a surprise William Hung performance. He sang: “She Bangs” again. Also, they showed a message from former judge, Ellen DeGeneres. Then past champion,Carrie Underwood, hit the stage to do her special performance, which also wrapped up all the performances for good.
After the final break of the night, host Ryan Seacrest, revealed that Trent Harmon was indeed the last winner of American Idol! So, congrats to Trent, and good riddance to this show that should’ve gotten canceled a few seasons ago. Stay tuned.
