Big Brother 14 suing new, similar show ‘Glass House’ for copying them. Uh Oh. According to, the CBS, Big Brother folks are currently in the midst of trying to sue the pants off of ABC,and their new knock-off show called “The Glass House,” which is set to debut on June 18th,2012.

As previously reported, it’s strikingly similar to Big Brother’s concept, and that’s exactly why CBS is suing them. They say, CBS sent ABC executives Anne Sweeney and Alan Braverman a cease-and-desist letter, informing them ” in the strongest possible terms, we must admonish ABC and anyone involved in the development or production of Glass House that they will be acting at their own peril if they continue to proceed in this manner.

CBS has instructed us to pursue all available remedies if this course of conduct continues.”Also, CBS is very upset that Glass House is being produced by a team of at least 18 former members CBS’ Big Brother production staff, because they are privy to trade secrets and other confidential, proprietary information, and signed broad and binding nondisclosure agreements in connection with Big Brother.

The lawsuit was filed earlier this month in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. It’s Alleging copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty, among others.

ABC fired back, claiming there’s no merit to this lawsuit, because the differences between Glass House and Big Brother are both fundamental and obvious, ranging from Glass House’s interactive elements and audience participation to its deployment of cutting edge technologies. I don’t know. It sounds like this is going to get quite sticky for ABC. We’ll see. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
