‘Dark Crystal’ sequel being planned
Now this is a sequel I can really get behind. Jim Henson’s son Brian has revealed that he and his company are working on a sequel to the cult classic “The Dark Crystal.”
That’s the best news I’ve heard since yesterday, at least.
Henson told MTV News that the movie would be called “The Power of the Dark Crystal” and added that it has a “very strong script.” There weren’t many more details, except that it’s very close to beginning production. I hope they don’t modernize the puppets too much. I want them to still be cheesy and creepy.
A “Fraggle Rock” movie by Henson is also in development.

That’s awesome. I agree that they shouldn’t try to modernize or improve the characters/puppets. Geez that movie still freaks me out when I start thinking about the giant spider/beetles and the soul-sucking torture devices. Eeeshh.

Is this still the one Genndy Tartakovsky was working on? Probably not, I’m pretty sure it got shelved & this one sounds completely different..

There is no such person as Ben Henson. Jim had two sons, Brian and John. I know, I used to work in the Muppet Workshop.
