De Mornay will star in ‘Mother’s Day’ remake

Rebecca De Mornay will play the deranged mother in the reboot of the 1980 cult classic “Mother’s Day.”

I’m pretty sure that means that every horror movie has been remade and we can get back to original pieces of work. Wait! “Basket Case” hasn’t been remade yet. Or “The Slumber Party Massacre.” Crap! Scratch that thought.

Anyway, they might want to consider a name change. I’m thinking “Killer MILF.” Because, face it, De Mornay is way more hot than she is deranged and scary.

De Mornay is no stranger to playing a psycho. She did so nicely as the nut-job nanny in “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.” I still randomly laugh at how mean she was to Ernie Hudson in that movie.

Filming for “Mother’s Day” starts next week. Expect a release date sometime near Mother’s Day. Duh.
