Director Roman Polanski arrested in Switzerland

Academy-Award winning director Roman Polanksi was arrested Saturday by Swiss police as he flew in for the Zurich Film Festival. Polanksi has been wanted by the United States since 1977 for sexual assault charges.
He could face extradition to the United States where he would finally be charged with the 32-year-old crime.
The 76-year-old filmmaker has been trying to get the case thrown out and even the victim has requested to have the case dropped. Polanski hasn’t been back to the states since he fled to France after serving 42 days initially. He even missed his Oscar win in 2002 for “The Piano.”
Polanski is most known for his films “Rosemary’s Baby” and “Chinatown,” and as the husband of Manson Family victim Sharon Tate.
