Eye-roll of the day: ‘2012′ clip

I was watching TV last night (I swear it wasn’t “Project Runway”) and saw an exclusive clip from “2012,” the movie about the end of the world that some people believe will really happen in less than three years.
I had kind of been on board with the movie before because I love a good disaster porno. And the effects, so far, have looked awesome. But then I saw this clip. And it made me embarrassed to even be alive. The effects are cool, but come on! No one can run from the world collapsing a half a step behind you. And the airplane flying through falling buildings? Wow. Give me a little realism, please. I need something to respect your movie. I can’t do it on special effects alone.
So yeah, they lost me on that clip. I might watch the movie the day after the world is supposed to end in 2012, just to kind of make fun of it.

I have to agree totally. At the start of the clip, I was imperssed, but the more they showed, the more rediculous it got. At the end, flying between the collapsing buildings finished it off for me. I’ll wait for a late night cable showing. Maybe a 6-pack will help.

are you guys KIDDING? this looks like the most ridiculously funny over the top disaster movie since Volcano! I hope the rest of it is this ridiculously wonderful… and that the filmmakers tongues are FIRMLY planted in their cheeks
