Fall Season Series Extensions Ordered: Knight Rider, Psych, Burn Notice
Email This Post

It’s been a slow season for television with only two freshman series having been granted a new lease on life with the back-half pick ups for Fringe and 90210. Today you can add NBC’s Knight Rider to that short list along with season renewals for USA’s Psych and Burn Notice.
Despite low ratings for the franchise revival of Knight Rider (6.9 million viewers), NBC is showing faith in Michael Knight’s abilities to draw a crowd with another four scripts. Okay, that’s not a glowing recommendation (Fringe & 90210 got 9-episode extensions), but it’s a step in the right direction.
USA moved to renew both Psych and Burn Notice for additional 16 episodes in their fourth and third seasons, respectively. While the series’ ratings haven’t been stellar (2.8 million for Burn and 2.2 for Psych) USA is confident they’ll continue to bring in the valuable 18-45 male audience.
