This isn’t the death blow to Michael and KITT, but it’s about as close as you can get without officially canceling a series:

Inside sources confirm that NBC has decided not to order any more episodes of Knight Rider this season and will close production after the cast and crew complete the 17th episode, which is filming this week.

So will the show live on to see a season two? Find out…

According to sources close to the series, there is no official kill order on Knight Rider, so the future of the show depends almost entirely the ratings for the remaining 10 unaired episodes. The decision on season two will come next year.

When this series was announced over a year ago I was somewhat interested, but the more I learned the less I wanted to tune in. A morphing Autobot-type KITT? I think they made it too complicated. The story was always about a man and his car, not some sci-fi angle. Time to put this one up on blocks, NBC.

Despite not even being available, “The Dark Knight” has becomes iTunes #1 “most downloaded” movie of the year. How exactly does something not available for download become the “most downloaded”? Pre-orders.

“The Dark Knight” goes on sale next Tuesday, December 9th and should be a massive blowout. The film has grossed just a few million dollars shy of a trillion dollars world-wide so this should be icing on their cake.

The other four of the top five movie downloads this year on iTunes rank in the following order: “Wall-E”, “Kung Fu Panda”, “Iron Man”, and “National Treasure 2″.

But I was disappointed to not see Leonard Nimoy in the trailer since his return has been part of the hype (sorry Kirk, shouldn’t have gotten yourself killed in the last one!). JJ Abrams was listening and sent over an extended trailer to me personally (did not actually happen) with a full 2, maybe 3 secs of everyone’s favorite original Vulcan with a totally new line (not actually a new line).

Great news, “Reaper” fans! The CW has confirmed that yes, Sam and his motley crew of soul retrievers will return for a third season of “Reaper”. Okay, now both of you sit down. The three of us will have to wait for March 17 when the season premieres on Tuesday nights at 9pm, just after 90210. Odd mix but hopefully that’ll boost ratings.

Leaked or released on purpose? Hard to tell, though I’d expect higher quality of these “Wolverine” stills if these were intentional. Check them out quick before 20th Century Fox decides they hate free publicity. “Wolverine” starring Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber strikes theaters May 1, 2009.

I missed “Wanted” in the theaters because I waited to track down a copy of the comic first. That was a mistake. The comic felt half baked and left me wanting more. Thankfully the movie is supposed to be drastically different from the book with its exclusion of the mutant superheroes and so I’m anxious to see this one when it releases today on DVD.
