First Valkyrie Poster Released – Tom Cruise Is Stylin’
Update: A new Valkyrie trailer was just released. Check it out at the bottom of the post.
The much delayed WWII project, “Valkyrie”, from director Bryan Singer (”The Usual Suspect”) and starring Tom Cruise is finally ramping up for release. The first poster, featured below, has finally been released and I learned something today: those anti-Hitler Germans were very stylish in their designs.
At the height of WW2, a group of high-ranking German officers hatched a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, and seize power of the military command in order to end the war. The operation was codenamed “Valkyrie”, for the emergency plan that was meant to be used in case of a revolt against the Nazi government. This plan had been modified by the conspirators to ensure their success, but for various reasons the plot failed when finally carried out on July 20th, 1944.

Valkryie flies into theaters on December 26, 2008.

After being bumped from its original date of February 2008 after terrible reviews the film went back for edits in an attempt to make it come out as an action thriller in December 2008. It looks like director Bryan Singer was only successful in making that transition with the trailer. [...]
