According to ABC News, Gary Coleman passed away at approximately 12PM Mountain Time this afternoon after being hospitalized for a head injury that may have been caused by a fall earlier this week:

“Child actor Gary Coleman died at approximately 12:05 p.m. Mountain Standard Time at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center,” said Janet Frank, a spokeswoman for the hospital, in an e-mailed statement. “Family members and close friends were at his side when life support was terminated.”

Coleman suffered the intracranial hemorrhage at his home in Utah Wednesday, possibly from a fall, though the exact circumstances have not been confirmed.

Coleman is also rumored to have suffered from kidney disease and seizures in the past. I don’t think I have heard more people say “Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout, Willis?!” more in my entire life than I have today. Unfortunately I am too young to really know about or appreciate Diff’rent Strokes for what it was, but even I know all about who Gary Coleman is. His life seemed to be plagued with financial troubles, health problems and other various issues since his time in the spotlight dimmed, so all we can hope for is that he is at peace now.

One more question: Is anyone else wondering what will happen with the Broadway show Avenue Q now? EDIT! No, I was not the only one with that question. Check out some videos of Gary Coleman after the jump.
