New GI Joe 2, Retaliation movie release date delayed almost a year for surprise 3D conversion. According to a recent report from Dealine, the new, huge, “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation” action movie that was about to release on June 29th, just shockingly got pushed back almost a year to March 29th,2013 to make way for a full, 3D conversion of the flick.

One of the studio executives told them, “we’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally. Jim Cameron did all of Titanic‘s 3D in post, and look how well that movie turned out.”

Even with that explanation, this is still pretty shocking, because the distributing studio Paramount Pictures, shelled out millions of dollars for a primo Super Bowl 2012 commercial, and had already started running TV and outdoor ads for the flick.

Now, it looks like they’ll have to do it all over again next year,so I hope that 3D conversion brings in, at least, a couple of million more dollars, because they’ve definitely blown at least that much. Stay tuned. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
