Last year the first trailer for Mischa Barton’s “Homecoming” was released and it looked every bit as cheesy as you might have imagined from its “Misery” approach to the psycho-girlfriend storyline. Over the weekend I had the chance to screen “Homecoming” and I must admit it was better than I expected in a lot of ways but still managed to fall short in some places. I’ll have my full review up later this week, but meanwhile you can take a look at the newly released “Homecoming” poster below.

Mike (Matt Long) is a small-town star athlete who is the first in his family to attend college, receiving a football scholarship to prestigious Northwestern University. When he returns home over Christmas break to the people he left behind – his family and friends – they are all surprised to see him with a new girlfriend, Elizabeth (Jessica Stroup), a pretty rich girl from Chicago.

No one is more shocked than Mike’s homecoming queen ex-girlfriend, Shelby (Mischa Barton), who immediately wants to be rid of Elizabeth and plots to take care of the problem.
