Hunger Games 2 sequel,Catching Fire movie lost it’s director,is in jeopardy & more. According to a new report from Collider, the original Hunger Games director Gary Ross has decided to step down as director for the sequel Catching Fire because he’s just too damn busy for it. He released an official statement the other day, confirming the news.

He stated, “Despite recent speculation in the media, and after difficult but sincere consideration, I have decided not to direct Catching Fire. As a writer and a director, I simply don’t have the time I need to write and prep the movie I would have wanted to make because of the fixed and tight production schedule.”

Shortly after his statement was released, the Hunger Games’ movie studio Lionsgate responded by saying, “we’re very sorry that Gary Ross has chosen not to direct Catching Fire. We were really looking forward to making the movie with him. This will not be the end of our relationship, as we consider Ross to be part of the Lionsgate family and look forward to working with him in the future.”

As previously reported,Catching Fire is scheduled to start filming this fall, and it could all be in jeopardy if they don’t find a replacement director pretty fast. We’re pretty sure that they will, though. Stay tuned. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
