KINGS – Preview Screening & Behind The Scenes Tour Of NBC’s New Series

This has to qualify for the coolest thing I’ve done while covering movie & television news for Hollywood Hills. Sure, chatting with celebrities over the phone is fun, but try meeting them in person and talking with them about their new television show in-between filming. Now that’s surreal.
Last week I had the opportunity to do just that for the upcoming NBC drama series “Kings”. I participated in a preview screening of the series’ pilot, Q&A with the series creator and stars, and even made a trip out to the series’ set to watch the filming of an episode and talk with a few more of the stars.
Over the next five weeks, as a build-up to the series premiere on Sunday, March 15th at 8pm, I’ll be providing you a weekly look at the series and what I saw from both the pilot and behind-the-scenes. I can go ahead and tell you now that NBC looks to be pulling out all the stops and providing the right creative control to make “Kings” a potential success. The pilot was impressive with its high-polish finish and intriguing storyline adaption pulled nearly straight from the Biblical tale of David and King Saul. Next week I’ll give you my full review of the “Kings” pilot and we’ll go from there. Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, here is a preview video for Kings:
Full disclosure: I received no compensation from NBC to positively promote “Kings.” Likewise, the only details I am prevented from voicing are those which pertain to what I saw during the filming of the season finale.
