Laurence Fishburne Heads To Vegas For CSI Replacement
It looks like CBS has found a replacement for the void about to be left in CSI by Gil Grissom’s (played by William Petersen) mid-season departure. Laurence Fishburne is now in talks with the long-running crime drama to fill the new role of scientist.
Fishburne’s character would of course be complicated and dark, much like Liev Schreiber’s a few seasons ago. This time around the new character would have the “same genetic profile as a serial killer, but hasn’t previously acted on any homicidal impulses.” Hmm. They couldn’t just have him be quirky?
Nothing is official just yet and the producers are still considering John Malkovich and Kurt Russell for the role. Sounds like this will work out great for CSI fans no matter which way they go.

Are you going to have a FUNERAL for CSI? It will DIE with the departure of William Petersen. I don’t know why he is leaving, but I am very sad to see him go. The series is DEAD without him. I certainly won’t watch the series with his “replacement” onboard and Sara gone. They must have seen the “writing on the wall” and jumped ship. This was one of my very favorite programs for a very long time, and I will feel its DEATH immensely.
