Robert Downey Jr. is over-rated? In what context? Name a movie in which RDJ has appeared where he didn’t add an extra dimension or texture that would have eluded most other leading men. I understand everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but I get the feeling your statement comes not from a place of authenticity, but rather an adolescent need to sound intelligent or discriminating by knocking a talent simply because it has been embraced by the mainstream. Let me tell you something: it’s the easiest thing in the world to knock something or someone. And it doesn’t take the least bit of courage. You want to write a review with substance? Find a work of merit or genius that has as of yet gone unacknowledged. That’s hard to do, and it takes guts to stand up for something, thereby making yourself vulnerable to ridicule. Good luck.
