New Transformers 4 movie confirmed for summer 2014 & Michael Bay returning to direct. MTV news recently caught up to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura at the Toy Fair 2012 event, and got the 411 details on the upcoming Transformers 4 flick.

Lorenzo revealed that the 4th installment is definitely a go,and that Michael Bay is absolutely returning to direct the flick later on this fall, when production is rumored to begin. He also revealed that the new movie is scheduled for a summer 2014 release date.

Lorenzo went on to reveal that the 4th flick will actually be a reboot, hybrid sort of film,or an evolution, stating, “I think the challenge there is that we are really going to do a reboot and what that’s going to be, we don’t even know yet.

It’s an evolution. There’s still continuity that’s going on, yet there will be a lot of new cast. Whether there’s anybody from the first cast, we don’t even know yet. The trust is it’s going to be a whole new story. The characters that would certainly come along are Optimus and Bumblebee, I’m sure.”

He also killed off rumors that Jason Statham is signed up to replace Shia Labeouf in the lead role, claiming, they need to get a story written before they even think about casting anyone. Stay tuned. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
