Raimi signs on to direct ‘WARCRAFT’

The live-action film adaptation of the popular video game “World of Warcraft” has a director. Variety has confirmed that Sam Raimi who gave us “The Evil Dead” and the “Spider-Man” trilogy has signed up to helm “Warcraft.”

Raimi’s fans are flooding blogs with excitement. Many are suggesting he give Bruce Campbell (“The Evil Dead”) a part. Don’t count that out … Campbell is to Raimi as Depp is to Burton.

Calm down. Raimi isn’t cleared to start the project until AFTER “Spider-Man 4,” which doesn’t start filming until next year.
