Real-life lesbians coming to Showtime!

Showtime is bringing back “The L Word” in the form of reality TV.

The show, called “The Real L Word: Los Angeles” will follow six lesbians as they live their lives. Variety calls it “a lesbian answer to Bravo’s ‘The Real Housewives’ franchise.” And I add: Only with less Jimmy Choos and more Doc Martens. It will probably also be a lot less annoying and way more interesting.

Creator Ilene Chaiken says, “Even though we concluded our sixth season of ‘The L Word’ on Showtime this past March, I believe we are not nearly finished telling our ‘L Word’ stories. Showtime has yet again come forward to continue with us this mission to entertain and enlighten and bring more ‘L’ to the world.”
