For the most part I’m a big fan of Robert De Niro. He’s done enough great work to help me shrug off the junk he puts out there. Edward Norton on the other hand, eh. I don’t know how I still don’t care for the man despite how much I enjoy “Fight Club,” but he just seems a little too smug for someone who’s made one, maybe two, good flicks.

Anyway, De Niro and Norton teamed up in 2001 for “The Score” which should have been a lot better than it was and now they’re looking to make up for it. The two actors are pairing back up for an unnamed independent thriller with more cops and robbers:

De Niro will play a correctional officer who is seduced by the wife of Norton’s character, a convicted arsonist up for parole, reports Variety.

The film is scheduled for release in 2010.

I’m not sold yet, but De Niro is in need of a high point these days. Let’s hope this is it.
