Seth Rogen’s new pet project, “The Green Hornet”, is building up hype with the release of its official logo along with the target release date of June 25, 2010:

My concern on this one was that it’d just be a silly slapstick action comedy tacked onto one of the less popular comic book characters. However, FirstShowing summed up Rogen’s response to that common hangup:

Rogen explains that “the version of the script is ultimately written as a very intense action movie” that will be in the PG-13 range, adding that his goal with The Green Hornet is “to show people action that they haven’t quite seen before.” Everyone’s biggest concerns seem to be that the film will be too much of a comedy, but Rogen explains. “It’s a very intense action movie and the relationship between Green Hornet and Kato, a lot of comedy comes from that.”

An “intense action movie” from Rogen? We’ll see later this summer how he handles comedy mixed with action in “Pineapple Express”. I’ll definitely be open minded about this one, but am still going to wait till we start seeing trailers.
