Sex and the City movieYou couldn’t have paid me to watch the first one, but thanks to $400 million worth of audiences world-wide we’re all going to be hit with another round of “Sex and the City” marketing. I warned you about this inevitability last summer and now it has been confirmed with the old whole gang.

All four principal actresses in the New York-set romantic tale — Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon — have closed their deal with New Line, according to insiders, removing the biggest impediment on the road to a new film. Writer-director Michael Patrick King has also closed his deal with the studio.

There’s no green light and no start date yet for the sequel, but expect things to gel quickly, and don’t be surprised if there’s a 2010 offering on the Warners/New Line slate, say sources.

Even if they do manage to force out a SatC sequel in 2010, Cattrall would be 54 years old. Isn’t there some stage in life where drinking cosmos while discussing sex swings because too much? Apparently not.
