Shannen Doherty Returns To 90210, Maybe

The 90210 remake continues to look more like an extension of the previous 90210 show every day. After hearing that Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth were signed to reprise their roles there came the news that Luke Perry was not interested. No worries though, Beverly fans, because your favorite Hills’ diva is on her way back.

Shannen Doherty is now in talks with producers, is interested, but wants to know what kind of money is involved, says EW’s Michael Ausiello:

Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that Doherty is currently engaged in formal talks to — wait for it, wait for it — reprise her role of Brenda Walsh on The CW’s breathlessly anticipated 90210 update!

The producers behind el nuevo 90210, recently met with the tempestuous tabloid mainstay to gauge her interest in returning to the zip code from which she was banished in 1994. And by all accounts, she is interested. “But,” whispers an insider with close ties to the reboot, “she wants to know what the story is going to be first.” She also wants more money than they’re apparently offering.

I think it’d be a big mistake to miss out on bringing back Doherty, but like I’ve said before, if the producers keep this up the show will be all about the previous generation rather than the new cast.
