Steve Carell Wants In On Anchorman 2, Still Loves Lamp
Email This Post
After watching Steve Carell flop and twitch in corporate profit driven attempts at comedy with “Evan Almighty” and the upcoming “Get Smart” it makes me nostalgic for Carell’s golden days. Yes, I’m talking about roles before he broke out big like back in Anchorman as Brick Tamland.
Thankfully, Steve Carell hasn’t forgotten about his roots. Last month news broke from Adam McKay that he wanted to return to Anchorman before too long. Will Ferrell expressed similar sentiments. Great, I thought, but what about Carell? I figured at this stage he’d never come back for a sidekick role. I was wrong.
In a recent interview with MTV, Steve was asked about if he’d return as Brick:
“Oh, absolutely,” Carell said to MTV News, as talk of an “Anchorman” sequel continues to build momentum. “Yeah, in a second.”
“I’ve heard some inklings as to what Adam McKay has in mind for a sequel, and it’s really funny,” Carell explained, insisting the sequel will once again take us to Pleasure Town. “But I couldn’t say anything more than that.”
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Watch the video of the interview below:
