New 10 Cloverfield Lane movie got mostly positive reviews from top critics. Paramount Pictures released their sci-fi/thriller flick, “10 Cloverfield Lane,” into theaters today, March 11th, 2016, and all the reviews are in from the top movie critics, and it turns out that it sat well with most of them, getting an overall 76 score out of a possible 100 across 41 reviews at Metacritic.com.

The movie stars: John Gallagher Jr., John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. We’ve added comments from a few of the critics, below.

Bill Zwecker over at the Chicago Sun-Times, gave it a really great 100 score, saying: “This is a terrific movie that will keep audiences gripping their seats from start to finish, and a great deal of that is due to the magnificent acting jobs by Goodman, Winstead and co-star John Gallagher Jr.”

Jeannette Catsoulis over at The New York Times, gave it a 100 score as well, saying: “Sneakily tweaking our fears of terrorism, 10 Cloverfield Lane, though no more than a kissing cousin to its namesake, is smartly chilling and finally spectacular.”

Justin Chang from Variety, gave it a 90 grade. He said: “The tension is rooted in psychology rather than gimmickry, and evinces a command of craft that feels old-fashioned in the most refreshing possible sense.”
