As a fan of the original television series I’ve always enjoyed Tom Cruise‘s take on the “Mission Impossible” franchise. Yes, I even somewhat enjoyed the lamer second film. Thankfully JJ Abrams came on to direct the third “Mission” with his directorial debut and I thought he brought the action back to what it should have always been which makes this next news bit even better.

TV Guide snagged a few words from Abrams where he revealed that yes, he’d be back on with the inevitable MI:4 production. So far he’s just the producer, but with no director named yet there’s always a chance.

I am incredibly honored that Tom [Cruise] has invited me back as a producer on Mission Impossible 4.

Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing.

Now if only Abrams could get through a film without jumping through time or timelines (“6 months earlier…”) then I’ll be impressed. If not, I’ll still take it.
