TERMINATOR 5 Returns To Fight The Future In Our Present

“Terminator Salvation,” the fourth Terminator film, is set to be released in less than three weeks and I’m ecstatic. Everything I was worried about with the film has been wiped away from what I’ve read and seen so far. McG isn’t happy to rest just yet though and has already begun discussing his plans for Terminator 5.

I had been longing for a future set battle so we could finally watch the resistance battle Skynet and its minions. We’re going to get a lot of that with Terminator 4 and apparently even more with Terminator 5. In fact, McG is currently planning to see his T5 come back from the future to our present 2011 thanks to machines finally working out the kinks in their time travel:

“They’ve figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you’re going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome.”

This is a pretty awesome idea. It’ll be strange going from the future back to the present again, but if T4 turns out as well as I expect that I’m ready for them to take this where ever they want.

Currently McG is targeting a 2011 release for T5 which would fit quite well with his plans to feature the film set in that year. I hope we have flying cars by then!
