David Goyer hasn’t had the most perfect track record. Sure, he wrote “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” but he also directed “Blade: Trinity” and “The Invisible”. Now he’s back with a film that he’s both written and directed, “The Unborn”:

“A young woman is pulled into a world of nightmares when a demonic spirit haunts her and threatens everyone she loves. Starring Odette Yustman, Meagan Good, Cam Gigandet and Gary Oldman, The Unborn is a thrilling tale of one woman’s survival as she fights a family curse and struggles to shut a doorway from beyond our world that has been pried open by someone who was never born.”

I’m going to let the inclusion of Gary Oldman outweigh the producer credit of Michael Bay. The trailer below does look pretty cool, but it also looks like it could borrow heavily from “The Exorcist”, “Rosemary’s Baby”, and even a little from “Lost Souls”.

The Unborn gives birth on January 9, 2009.
