trust me

This has not been a good year for freshman series I’ve been enjoying. TNT has officially canceled their Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanagh series “Trust Me” after declining to renew the drama for a second year:

The show garnered middling reviews, and its January 26 premiere drew 3.4 million viewers, losing 50 percent of its lead-in from “The Closer.” A week later, “Trust Me” dropped to 1.9 million viewers. It ended its 13-episode run last week.

In another sign the show was on its way out, “Will & Grace” alumnus McCormack last month booked an untitled comedy pilot at ABC.

When half of your team is out the door picking up new work then that’s never a good sign. Too bad about the series though. It was a lot of fun, but apparently not fun enough. Hopefully Cavanagh will find new work as quickly as McCormack.
