Transformers 2 Official Title Press Release

Hasbro just put out this press release regarding Michael Bay’s Transformers sequel which confirms the rumored new movie’s title:

With a little more than a year away until its debut, the buzz is building about the sequel to 2007’s hit movie TRANSFORMERS

TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN began shooting on June 2nd in Bethlehem, PA. While details of the movie’s plot a closely-guarded secret, expect a key character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle a score.

Cast members, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson will reprise their roles, and Rainn Wilson from NBC’s The Office, will also join the cast.

Well it’ll either be Jazz or Megatron that is the “fallen” part of the title. Jazz was torn in half and assumed to be destroyed, presumably because he was the only ‘brother’ autobot. Megatron was also severely disabled when the Spark was jammed into him in the end of the first movie.

It’d be rather anti-climatic to assume this whole sequel would be about Jazz. It’d likewise be hard to believe that they’re ready to let Megatron rest so early in the franchise which will likely just keep going and going.
