True Blood season 7 officially announced to be the final season ever. According to a recent report from TV Line, the official announcement has finally been made that the True Blood peeps are throwing in the towel after the upcoming season 7 is over, you guys will definitely need to make sure you savor every show for what it’s worth. If that weren’t enough, they’re only giving them a small ,10 episode send-off.

Michael Lombardo, who is the President of HBO programming,made a statement regarding the show’s demise, and it reads like this: “True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO. Alan Ball took the books by Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast led by the magnificent Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, and crafted a show that has taken its many devoted fans on an unforgettable journey.

Alan passed the baton to Brian Buckner, who led our fantastic writers and crew in crafting a spectacular sixth season, and he will lead us through the seventh and final season of this amazing show. Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

The True Blood season 6 finale was down from it’s previous season 5 finale ,which drew 5 million viewers as opposed to the 4 million viewers of season 6.
