“The Hangover” finally wore off this weekend as “The Proposal” took over at the top of the box office earning $34.1 million in its debut. “Hangover” hung on to its earning power though with second place and nearly $27 million during its third week in release. Not all comedies did as well with the Jack Black and Michael Cera led “Year One” limping in at 4th with $20.2 million. Watch for word of mouth to kill this disappointing flick in its second weekend.

“Star Trek” nears its quarter million dollar mark in its seventh weekend while Eddie Murphy’s “Imagine That” has yet to earn a quarter of its budget ($55M). So long, Eddie.
