Would You Live in the Amityville Horror House?
Do you like scary movies? Do you like them enough to actually want to LIVE in them!? If you do, here’s your chance! The house that the movie The Amityville Horror is based around is on the market! No, seriously…
So for the low, low price of 1.15 million dollars you can own the house that haunted the WORLD! Well, maybe not the world, because I actually have not seen any of the Amityville Horror movies, but the 1979 version was up for an Oscar! That means it had to be scary. Right?
IMDb News reported that the five-bedroom Long Island home that was the site of six grisly murders in 1974 when Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed his entire family, is now up for sale! Come on folks, it’s a buyer’s market. But seriously, I would totally live here. It’s beautiful! And I’ve always been intrigued by places that have a “story.” Imagine having dinner parties! You’d never have to make small talk, you could just tell the uplifting tale of how your house is famous.
The movies (in case you’re like me and didn’t already know) center around the Lutz family that lives in the house after the DeFeo murders, and the paranormal activity that supposedly occurs. In real life, the people who owned the home after the murders did not experience anything interesting at all, except for, you know, a roof over their heads. They did change the address from 112 Ocean Ave to 108 Ocean Ave instead, so maybe that has shielded them from evil spirits.

1. The book!
2. The 1979 movie starring Josh Brolin and Margot Kidder!
3. The 2005 movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George!
4. Watch the video below for Eminem‘s song “Amityville.” WARNING! NOT SAFE FOR WORK!
