New Joy movie got mixed reviews from top critics. FOX 2000 Pictures released their new biography/drama flick, “Joy,” into theaters today, December 25th, 2015, and all the reviews are in from the top movie critics. It turns out that they were pretty mixed with their opinions, giving it an overall 56 score out of a possible 100 across 39 reviews at Metacritic.com.

The movie stars: Bradley Cooper, Dascha Polanco, Diane Ladd, Édgar Ramírez, Isabella Rossellini, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Susan Lucci and Virginia Madsen. We’ve added comments from a few of the critics, below.

Sheila O’Malley at RogerEbert.com, gave it an ok 75 grade, saying: “Joy doesn’t work entirely, and the structure set up so clearly in the opening sequence is dropped early on for no apparent reason, but I’ll be damned if I didn’t get carried away at the story of a mop sweeping the nation. It’s a lunatic “Mildred Pierce,” without the murder.”

Lou Lumenick from the New York Post, gave it a 75 score, stating: “Mostly it’s up to Lawrence to wring all the drama and pathos she can out of a battle over patent rights that pushes Joy to the brink of bankruptcy. No surprise that her mettle cleans up all the messiness in Joy.”

Richard Roeper over at the Chicago Sun-Times, gave it a 75 grade, saying: “It’s not in the same league as “Playbook” or “Hustle,” but thanks to some memorable set pieces and the best performance by Jennifer Lawrence since her breakout role in “Winter’s Bone,” the sometimes-bumpy journey is worth your investment.”

Survivor 31 Jeremy Collins Won The Whole Show Tonight,December 16th

jeremy collins image

Survivor 31 Jeremy Collins won the whole show tonight,December 16th. Tonight’s finale show, started off with some conversation footage and a recap of the entire season. Kimmi said, she was looking to join Keith and Kelley in a scheme to blindside her allies.

Then they showed immunity challenge footage. It turned out to be another obstacle course and puzzle. Spencer won it for immunity as he’s great at these puzzle challenges.

Jeremy’s name was immediately mentioned for elimination, along with Kimmi and Keith. Then there was a lot of back and forth conversations about splitting the votes. At tribal council, everyone talked game for a bit before casting their votes.

Kelly and Jeremy decided to play their immunity idols, so no votes against them counted. Jeremy ended up receiving 3 votes and Kelly received 3 votes. Again, none of their votes counted. So, for the first time in Survivor history, they had a scenario where no one was voted out.

They had to re-vote. However, they could only vote for either Kimmi, Keith, or Tasha this time around. Kimmi received 3 votes and Tasha received 3 votes, causing another tie situation. So, Kelly, Keith, Spencer, and Jeremy eventually just had to make a unanimous vote to get rid of Kimmi in one of the wildest tribal councils ever!

New Krampus movie got mixed reviews from top critics. Universal Pictures released their new horror/fantasy flick, “Krampus,” into theaters today, December 4th, 2015, and all the reviews are in from the top movie critics. It turns out that they were pretty mixed about it, giving it an overall 47 score out of a possible 100 score across 12 reviews at Metacritic.com.

The movie stars: Adam Scott, Allison Tolman, Conchata Ferrell, David Koechner, Emjay Anthony, Krista Stadler, Stefania Owen and Toni Collette. We’ve added comments from a few of the critics, below.

Darren Franich at Entertainment Weekly, gave it a decent 75 score, stating: “Full credit to director Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat) because this is great-looking movie, filled with freaky creature designs and a just-right mixture of practical effects and CGI.”

Justin Chang from Variety, gave it a 60 grade, saying: “Krampus isn’t especially scary, but it generates goodwill nonetheless for treating its home-invasion-for-the-holidays setup with an appreciably straight face.”

Frank Scheck at The Hollywood Reporter, gave it a 50 score. He said: “While the violent sequences are very effectively staged, the results are a strange hybrid that doesn’t quite work. Lacking the antic, witty humor of something like the similarly conceived Gremlins or the full-out gore of a traditional horror flick, Krampus never really finds it niche.”

A.O. Scott from The New York Times, gave it a 40 score. He said: “Occasionally funny, intermittently scary, but mostly hectic and sloppy, Krampus tries very hard to be a different kind of Christmas movie.”
