New 5th Wave Movie Got Mostly Negative Reviews From Top Critics
New 5th Wave movie got mostly negative reviews from top critics. Columbia Pictures released their new action/thriller flick, “The 5th Wave,” into theaters this weekend, and all the top critics have revealed their opinion of it. It turns out that it just didn’t quite go over well with the majority of them, giving it a very low, overall 34 score out of a possible 100 across 26 reviews at Metacritic.com.
The movie stars: Bailey Anne Borders, Chloë Grace Moretz, Gabriela Lopez, Maggie Siff, Matthew Zuk, Nick Robinson and Ron Livingston. We’ve added comments from a couple of the critics, beloiw.
Brian Truitt over at USA Today, gave it an ok 75 score, saying: “The 5th Wave finds a way to make the most of Moretz’s talents, with the emotionality she showed in If I Stay and the utter physical chutzpah of her Kick-Ass films.”
Clark Collis from Entertainment Weekly, gave it a 58 grade. He said: “The frankly preposterous nature of the film’s setup is rendered slightly less so by a couple of second act reveals. But, by then, many viewers will have lost interest in a movie with a very high bodycount but a very small amount of grit, either emotional or literal.”
