After his huge success in “The Hangover,” Zach Galifianakis is set to reunite with director Todd Phillips in “Due Date” in addition to the already ordered sequel to “Hangover.” Busy man.

Galifianakis will play one of the two leads in “Due Date,” an Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland script that was revised by Adam Sztykiel. In the comedy about fatherhood, an expectant dad and his unlikely travel companion (Galifianakis) race cross-country in hopes of making it home for the birth of his first child.

I’ve enjoyed Galifianakis ever since his 2001 “Out Cold” which despite its overall blah-ness still gave him a chance to shine. A long eight years later and Zach is ready to start calling the shots and I like it.
