Young And The Restless 2016 getting rid of Dr. Simon Neville character,new details. According to a new report from the soapcentral folks the Young and The Restless set has served up a new firing to actor, Michael E. Knight (left), who plays character ,Dr. Simon Neville, on the show.

It also turns out that this new firing had been in the works for quite some time as it was reportedly planned well in advance of them firing EP, Jill Farren, a couple of days ago.

Apparently, the Simon Neville role was actually only supposed be an 8 episode arc, but got extended. So, Michael is totally happy with the outcome even though he’s getting canned. He said he actually didn’t see his character being a long-term addition.

Michael told the press of his Simon Neville character: “I see it lasting into the New Year, but I’m not sure if it has legs for permanency. They have a very full roster at Y&R. They’ve been doing this a long, long time. And they’ve done a really good job of keeping it the Abbotts and the Newmans, that ongoing story that they have. So when it comes to the niche, you never really know how it’s going to move forward.”

Previously, Michael had been on All My Children as character ,Tad Martin, for almost 30 freaking years! Wow! Anyways, RIP Dr. Simon Neville. Simon is supposed to stick around for just a few more episodes before his permanent adios. Stay tuned.
